Modern ships and vessels are widely equipped with more sophisticated technical systems. So at times operators have to work at their psychophysiological capabilities limits. Efficiency of combat use of complex hi-tech weapons and military equipment depends more on personnel professional training level.
Understanding its role in ships and vessels design and their faultless operation during their lifecycle, the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau reached a new level in development of onboard and coastal packaged PC-based simulators created simultaneously with ship’s design documentation. A packaged simulator is formed on the basis of a ship’s combat and peacetime designation and mission. For the first time in the Russian simulator industry all main ship’s systems and equipment operation is simulated on a full scale basis using the Almaz-developed simulators. The use of simulators allows to introduce an educational mode, intended for studying ship’s systems, weapons and technical equipment by virtue of electronic educational and repair documentation and interactive electronic guidance developed by the Bureau.
Simulator designation:
Improving officers practical skills in management of combat posts, command points and the ship as a whole;
Studying the arrangement and operation principles of onboard technical equipment and systems;
Personnel training in maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair procedures;
Assessment of personnel readiness to perform their functions;
Perfection of personnel skills in emergency cases.
A packaged simulator includes:
Automated workplaces for combat systems and technical equipment operators;
Local area network ;
Peripheral equipment such as the server, common use screen, registering device ;
Common use software;
Special use software ;
Interactive electronic technical guidance for operation, maintenance and repair of ship’s systems and equipment.
A packaged simulator includes the following training modules:
Missile and artillery weapons;
Mine and torpedo weapons
Communications and other electronic equipment;
Propulsion and other systems;
Damage control.
A packaged simulator operating modes:
Offline mode – for independent training of operators in systems and equipment ;
Group mode – for training combat posts operators at a battle unit level;
Package mode – for training ship’s crew in combat use of weapons, technical equipment and damage control ;
Educational mode – for studying systems and equipment of the ship using electronic educational documentation and interactive electronic guidance;
Knowledge test mode – for forming the curriculum, selecting subjects and test questionnaires, making plans and reports.
